Perfusion Week
May 1-7, 2025
Recognizing the Heart of Patient Care
Perfusion Week is an opportunity to highlight the vital role perfusionists play in cardiovascular care. Every day, perfusionists contribute to life-saving procedures, advancing both patient outcomes and the profession itself. This week, we celebrate your dedication, expertise, and the impact you make.
Join the celebration by sharing your experiences, team activities, and stories on social media. Connect with us on X (@amsectperfusion), Facebook (@AmSECT), LinkedIn (@AmSECT), and Instagram (@amsectperfusion), or email us at amsect@amsect.org. Don’t forget to use #PerfusionWeek for a chance to be featured!

Ways to Celebrate

Make It Official
Encourage your hospital, institution, or employer to recognize Perfusion Week! Request a feature in internal newsletters, organize an informational session, or invite leadership to acknowledge your team’s contributions.
|

Be a Perfusion Advocate
Use Perfusion Week to educate others! Give a short presentation at your hospital, share an educational infographic, or invite non-perfusionists to shadow your team for a day.
|

Get in the Headlines
Reach out to local news outlets or your institution’s PR team to highlight the essential role of perfusionists. A short interview or feature article can raise awareness beyond the medical community.
|

Recognize & Reward
Take time to recognize outstanding colleagues. Create an informal awards ceremony, give a team MVP award, or simply highlight the hard work of those around you.
|

Make It Fun
Host a lighthearted event like a "Perfusion Superlatives" contest (e.g., “Most Likely to Stay Cool Under Pressure” or “Best Pump Room DJ”) or host a fun activity for your perfusion team (past examples include themed snacks, a llama/alpaca visits, costume contests, and more!).
|

Be Part of the Movement
Document your celebrations and send them to amsect@amsect.org - your contributions could be featured in AmSECT’s Perfusion Week highlights!
