AmSECT Student Essay Contest
Back to Student Corner
The AmSECT Safety Committee is pleased to announce an essay contest with an award prize of $1,000 to be awarded to each of the top two submissions. This contest is open only to active perfusion students*.
Essay submissions should focus on patient safety, specifically highlighting your passion for both patient safety and the field of perfusion. They may address a variety of topics, such as a near miss event, a sentinel event, or a high-risk scenario that has not yet resulted in an adverse outcome. To ensure a comprehensive analysis, submissions should incorporate safety mitigators, an analysis of the issue, and potential solutions.
The essay should be no more than 1,000 words in length and must be submitted by February 14, 2025 to amsect@amsect.org. Submissions will be evaluated based on originality, depth of safety analysis, and writing quality. In addition to the cash prize, the top two essays will be included in the AmSECToday quarterly newsletter.
We look forward to your insights and contributions to advancing patient safety in the perfusion community!
*Must be a current student at an ABCP accredited perfusion school.
Please reach out to amsect@amsect.org with any questions.
